Live 1:17 is a ministry of the church that exists to educate, equip and support the families in our church and community who are fostering, adopting or volunteering with Safe Families. We want to defend the cause of the fatherless as we see a call to action in Isaiah 1:17, “Learn to do right, seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow.”

We do this through:

Monthly meetings for moms where they have a safe place to share their journey of fostering, adopting or serving with Safe Families. We laugh and cry and pray for one another!

Organizing a Christmas party for all Kankakee County foster and Safe Family children where they can have fun and receive a special gift picked just for them.

A supply closet that provides a place for immediate practical provision needs to be available primarily for families serving foster, adoption and Safe Families but additionally offered to others in our church with needs. We keep car seats, clothes and more, ready when needs are expressed.
